Friends Of Milford GAA
Tuesday, 16th August 2011
We recently formed a new sub-committee called Friends of Milford GAA. The main aim of this group is to help raise funds to assist with the upgrade of our facilities. One of the jobs we would hope to create would be a walk around the pitch. To become a member you must sign up to a monthly standing order of €10 or you can pay annually in advance. For each 100 members that join, the committee will purchase €24 worth of tickets each Wednesday and Saturday for the National Lottery and any winnings will be shared among the Friends of Milford GAA at the end of the 12 months. Over the next week or so we will be calling door to door and your support would be appreciated.

The success propels Milford to a semi-final meeting with Fr O'Neill's and turns their season around in remarkable fashion. Milford lost their opening two games in this year's championship, including a second round defeat to Barryroe, but battled back and gained revenge for the earlier loss to the Carbery side last night.

MILFORD ended Fermoy's IHC title ambitions on Saturday night after they edged the north Cork side in a tough, stuttering 60-minute encounter at Kildorrery.
The referee's whistle was constantly on the go as both sides used whatever means possible to stop their opponents getting the upper hand.
Although the justified interventions may have made this game a stop-start affair, the sides still managed to serve up moments of brilliance with wonderful scores lighting up the fixture.
